Background
Romanian-American soprano Natalia Leslie spent her formative years in Houston, Texas. She began studying piano and voice at a young age, and fostered a love and passion for music. Natalia started performing with small community theatre companies, and was captivated by the stage. She continued to excel and pursued classical music as a career. While studying voice at Baylor University, Natalia explored different paths within classical singing. She was seen performing many principal roles with Baylor Opera Theatre. Most notably, her roles as Laurie from The Tender Land by Copland, and the title role in Patience by Gilbert and Sullivan. She also found a love for more contemporary works, and seeks to perform them as often as she can. While performing, she began teaching private voice in 2023. Today, Natalia is a graduate student at the University of Houston studying Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy and Arts Leadership. With the University of Houston’s Moore’s Opera Center she has been seen in roles such as Amy in Little Women and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi.
